Description

Several hours on the sled has provided us first-hand experience of the importance of warm and functional clothing. Together with an international team of athletes, consisting of some of the World`s best mushers, we have developed an extremely warm and functional down jacket that is suitable for trips, activities and expeditions in the winter.

Arctic jakka pro is the further development of the original Jakka, a down jacket that has been used over several years by mushers in arctic conditions and on expeditions.

Nothing beats down as an insulation material in very cold temperatures, but we also saw the need to optimize the insulation capability in humid weather since the conditions in the mountains can change very quickly. We solved this by using a layer of synthetic insulation over the down filled in an offset boxwall-construction. PrimaLoft® Silver reduces potential cold spots, while retaining the insulating ability in wet weather. Over the shoulders in exposed area, a thicker synthetic insulation.

By using additional down filled baffles at the neck, waist and along the two way zipper, loss of heat is significantly reduced offering 360 degrees of protection. This winter jacket has also a big, down-filled hood with a wide collar that protects the neck and the face against cold and wind.

A good winter jacket should not only be warm, but also functional. Therefore, we have equipped Arctic jakka pro with several practical and easily accessible pockets. On the outside there are four insulated pockets. On the inside you have an insulated pocket and three mesh pockets that are ideal for drying clothes or dog booties, storing batteries, snacks or other similar small items. On the inside back, there is an additional mesh pocket that can hold a drinking reservoir. Thanks to the placement your water won`t freeze. Mittens and other light items can be attached to the durable Hypalon loops on the front. If you would like to use shoulder straps with the Arctic jakka pro, there are three attachment points so the jacket can be easily removed on the move without having to pack it away.

Arctic jakka pro has a unisex fit and is available in sizes XS to 2XL. This winter jacket comes in two colors, blue or purple.

WASH GUIDE

Max 30°C washing machine.

Close all zippers and hook and loop fasteners before tumble-dry.

Tumble dry on low temperature.

Shake it regularly during the drying process to avoid the down clumping.

HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT SIZE?

WHAT KIND OF DOWN ARE YOU USING?

We are only using RDS-certificated (Responsible Down Standard) down, that guarantees animal welfare in all stadiums of the production. We have chosen to use down from goose, which has a higher fillpower and strength than duck down. It is also a very light material. The down is filled in slanted chambers to reduce eventual cold bridges. Arctic jakka pro has a fillpower of 800.

IS THIS DOWN JACKET WATERPROOF?

Arctic jakka pro has a wind- and waterproof outer fabric of 3 and 2,5-layer Polyester with 10.000 and 15.000 millimeter water column. Under the outer fabric we have used synthetic insulation, PrimaLoft® Silver, that maintains the jackets insulation capabailities even in humid conditions. This layer is protecting the boxwall-construction of down which is the closest to the body against condensation.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ARCTIC JAKKA PRO AND ARCTIC JAKKA PRO+?

Arctic jakka pro+ comes with shoulder straps and two extra pockets on the front. In addition the colors are different: Arctic jakka pro comes in blue and purple. Arctic jakka pro+ is available in black/grey.

HOW WARM IS THE ARCTIC JAKKA PRO?

This down jacket was developed and tested in extreme cold temperatures, including the World`s toughest sleddog race, in temperatures down to -50 Celsius degrees. The insulation materials were carefully chosen to keep you as warm as possible and the construction was designed to have as little heat loss as possible from seems to openings. Everybody is different, but we are confident that this is one of the warmest and most comfortable winter jacket you have ever tried.

WHAT ARE THE ATTACHMENT POINTS ON THE INSIDE FOR?

Shoulder straps can be attached to the jacket, in case you would like to use one.

WHICH ACTIVITIES IS THE ARCTIC JAKKA PRO SUITABLE FOR?

The jacket was developed with mushing in mind, but is also suitable for other activities, such as ice fishing, kiting, snow scootering or expeditions.
